Not All Natural Or Organic Cosmetics Are Safe Cosmetics!

You may be using products that are not safe cosmetics and that contain ingredients that cause cancer, so you need to know what ingredients to avoid, and then learn to read those labels.

You will notice that the actual pot that your creams come in, rarely have a list of the ingredients, just in case you should read something like this and go to the bathroom and check out what you have been plastering on your face.

They are usually on the box, but mostly in tiny print and often only giving details of the active ingredients (those that do the cleaning or moisturising etc). The box, ofcourse, has by now landed in the bin, so you will need to go back to the mall to have a look.

Before you do that you need to understand what you are looking for, as the beauty industry is not highly regulated. Even when a product claims to be natural, it can have all natural products, some natural products mixed with chemicals or no natural products at all.

For instance I bought a liquid soap recently that said in large print on the front of the bottle "Tea Tree-Oil of Maleuca Alternifolia". Also on the front label it said "Tea Tree Oil is a immuno-stimulant and active against a variety of infectious organisms-bacteria, fungi and viruses." Is this a Safe cosmetic? Definitely not and just by the way, I only bought it so that I could quote the label exactly!

In the list of ingredients in very small print on the back, I found 4 very dangerous ingredients as listed below, so you can see that the manufacturer has tried to pass a very unhealthy product off as being a safe cosmetic!

Avoid all products that contain chemical preservatives, mineral oils, artificial colours, fragrances and alcohol.

Remember that your skin absorbs everything that you put on it and these ingredients can pass into the bloodstream ending up in the nervous system, joint tissue and vital organs. These are some (but not all) of the ingredients that you will find;

•Parabens (methylparaben propylparaben etc.) are skin irritants, disturb your hormonal balance, are potential mutagens and have been found in breast cancer tumours.

They are found in shampoos, conditioners, lotions and deodorants.

•Propelyne glycol is an irritant, may cause allergic reactions, kidney, liver, nervous system damage and has the potential to cause cancer.

•Fragrance may irritate the skin and can contain many chemical.

Even if a cosmetic states that it is fragrance free this does not guarantee anything.

It purely means that you can’t smell the fragrance.

•Octyl methoxycinnamate is a skin and eye irritant.

It disrupts your hormone balance and can increase the growth of cancer cells.

Found in make up, suntan lotion and sun screens

•Sodium lauryl sulfate is a skin and eye irritant, and may cause dry skin and eczema.

It is a potential mutagen and may inhibit DNA synthesis.

Found in bubble bath, lotions, creams shampoo and toothpaste.

•D&C colours are derived from coal tar which is known to cause cancer.

Found in cosmetics and personal products.

So if you are one of the millions of people that spend a fortune on commercial beauty products that are honestly doing more damage than good to your skin, and definitely doing irreparable damage to your health.
