Your lymph system is equipped with a network of vessels throughout your body which transport lymph (a watery fluid) and is responsible for draining excess wastes from your system.

This network, together with your lymph glands, is known as the lymphatic system.

The lymph glands are closely connected with breast cancer and you should make sure that you understand this link.

Yes men do get breast cancer although it is not as prevalent as in women! Unlike your circulatory system that is controlled by your heart, the lymph system has no pump.

The force of gravity, together with the contraction and relaxation of your muscles during movement is what keeps the lymph flowing. It is extremely important to keep your lymphatic system in good working order by exercising, as complaints such as arthritis, cellulite, high blood pressure and even depression have been linked to poor lymphatic drainage.

The health of your lymphatic system also depends on your innate constitution (some people are born healthier than others, your age (your immune system weakens as you grow older) and on how well you nourish your body.
