Face Peels

Face peels are a very popular procedure, used mostly on the face, but can also be used on the skin of your neck and hands.

A face (or chemical) peel, also called derma brasion, is one of the least invasive ways to get a wrinkle free and beautiful skin.

Sun exposure, acne or aging can leave your skin uneven, wrinkled, or scarred and you could consider a face peel to remove the damaged outer layers.

A chemical peel uses a solution which is applied to your skin to improve the texture. Each chemical has a different purpose and the formula used by your doctor will be adjusted to meet your particular needs.

If you have uneven pigment, dryness, acne or fine wrinkling, a light chemical peel might be the right choice.

A light peel uses a mild solutions of beta hydroxy acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid which removes the outer layer of skin and results in a glowing skin.

The process usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes and treatments can be repeated weekly for up to six weeks to maintain results over time.

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is a medium peel used to correct superficial blemishes and pigmentation and fine lines.

The Phenol peel is a stronger peel that is best for fair skinned people in their 50’s or 60’s with significant sun damage to the skin.

A phenol peel takes one to two hours and causes very deep injury to the skin. Because the phenol is absorbed, there is the possibility of it damaging the heart, liver and kidneys.
